Red Willow Ministries and Park River Bible Camp are thrilled to announce that, as the next step in our growing partnership and after a national search, Ms. Jess Gulseth has been selected as our shared Executive Director.
Jess holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Minnesota State University in Moorhead, MN, and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary. She is currently in candidacy to be ordained as a Deacon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Jess has served St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, IA since 2018, most recently as the Director of Discipleship. Previously, she served on staff at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Fargo, and as the Hospitality Director at Red Willow Bible Camp. She also brings experience in early childhood education, support services for individuals with disabilities, and as a frequent writing contributor at ChurchAnew.org.
Park River Bible Camp Board Chair, Aaron Kjelland shared, “Jess is the right leader for this moment in the history of our ministries.” Red Willow Ministries Board Chair, Todd Edland added, “I’m excited by Jess’s passion for connecting across the synod and the wider community.”
Jess shared, "I'm looking forward to getting to know the gifts of each community, welcoming all to camp, and bringing my creativity and passion to this new venture of joint ministry between these two historic organizations."
Jess Gulseth will assume the role of Executive Director on March 11th, 2024.
